Building a Community Through Scholarships

"Young people are the future of this country. Cultivating their creative energies, passion and sense of engagement is fundamental for the success of their own lives and for the economic and cultural vitality of our communities" Sir Ken Robinson

Ovation has created a new scheme to develop young artistic talent through a scholarship program.

Ovation has long been the advocate of building communities that are creative, resilient and capable through arts and cultural practice.

Our Building of a Community through Scholarships programme has been designed to recognise, encourage, and support talented individuals pursuing an education and career in the performing arts. Our scholarships are granted to students who are excelling in the performing arts. Ovation’s work is also motivated by the need to improve access for all young Australians to participation in the arts, regardless of economic or geographic barriers.

The programme also enables disadvantaged and low SES youth to reach their full potential through receiving a quality arts education relevant to their needs. In times of economic down turn Ovation has evolved into a place where youth come to learn, perform, play, socialise and connect.

In order to facilitate the programme Ovation has established partnerships with a range of organisations such as Rotary Club and corporate and community support. You can also make a difference to the lives of these young people by personally donating to Ovation’s Scholarship Fund. You can ensure a child can look forward to and enjoy a quality after school program as most other children do, as well as acquiring some useful life skills in the process.

Each scholarship is designed to be used for professional development.
